Brief
The project requirements contained a diverse set of creative deliverables, including a 6-frame storyboard, a crafted 3D model object, a hand-drawn 2D object, and a stop-motion animation film comprised of 60-80 photos (5 - 30 seconds long).
Solution
I aimed to create a huge contrast piece to create a shocking, unexpected twist. The movie, First Impression, challenges the notion that femininity is confined to a specific musical stereotype. On first impression, the main character of this role shows a delicate and feminine demeanour through classical music, enjoying the flowers in the field and body language. However, upon returning home, she defies expectations by cranking up the radio and unleashing her inner dancer to a gritty metal track. This creates the contrast between the modest, quiet feminine theme versus the grunge, hardcore theme. The story portrays that your first impression of someone could be deceiving, and we should stop putting people in boxes according to stereotypes.
